The issue of Installation...
When considering your sign purchase one factor that needs to be
considered is the issue of installation. Where are you going to put the
sign? Are the permits in place? Do you have the right electrical capacity
to the sign? If you chose an LED message center are
there special considerations for installing it?
Weeks before you receive your sign you will receive a plan for installing
your sign. This will be a diagram showing the needed foundation and
posts or threaded rods that need to be set for your sign to be installed
safely and correctly. Installing your sign yourself is not difficult for people
with construction and/ or electrical background. Please keep in mind a
sign can weigh 300-600 pounds or more and may require a small crane
or forklift to take from the delivery truck or erect depending on the size.
These are things that need to be prepared for.
If you decide that you would rather have the sign installed we have
a nationwide network of installation contractors. We will have the sign
delivered to a professional in your area and they will unload it, excavate,
pour your foundation and set your sign for you. They will provide us with
a price prior to the installation and we will coordinate with them. They will
bill you directly for the installation so there is no middle-man markup.
Most areas require that a certified electrician perform the
“final electrical hook-up” of your sign. This is something you can
coordinate with a local electrician or the installation contractor.
If you are choosing an LED message center we would recommend
having your sign installed by a professional unless you have
volunteers with electrical experience available.
